Do you have a  deep understanding of dbt ? Are you comfortable working in a high urgency environment ? Here at Onebright we have a 6 month contract opportunity for a Lead Data Engineer , interested ?

 

About our opportunity

As Onebright’s Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect it will be your responsibility to structure key elements of our data architecture by delivering critical pipelines, enforcing architectural standards and enabling junior staff through hands-on mentoring. Your role will focus on delivering a specific line in dbt, defining and embedding governance frameworks, and architecting the foundational model pathway – ensuring long-term maintainability, scalability and quality of the warehouse during a critical staff transition.

What we need from you

  • Proven track record delivering Snowflake SQL data architectures
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or equivalent modelling tools
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing design, SCD logic, and testing standards
  • Experience implementing CI/CD for data pipelines (BitBucket, GitHub, etc.)
  • Strong documentation and mentoring capabilities - able to uplift junior staff
  • Demonstrated ability to lead refactoring or transformation of legacy pipelines and models
  • Comfortable working in high-urgency environments with limited existing structure
