Are you passionate about data engineering and looking for a leadership role that puts you at the heart of driving business performance and operational processes through data?

Joining us as aLead Data Engineer, you'll guide and mentor a skilled team Data Engineers and leverage modern data engineering capabilities to empower our organisation to utilise data for enhancing business outcomes. You and your team will work closely with various business areas to deliver data for visualisation, reporting, or analytics solutions, ensuring compliance with our frameworks.

What will I be doing?

  • Provide thought leadership and build data engineering capabilities.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers, ensuring project delivery meets time and quality expectations.
  • Develop and enforce Data Engineering Patterns and Frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and risk management policies.
  • Drive automation and continuous development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with data architecture and engineering teams to support agile environment estimations.
  • Occasionally develop specific work packages for project deliverables.

What do I need?

  • Extensive experience in Data Engineering within a modern cloud-based architecture
  • Skilled utilising Databricks, Python and PySpark is crucial to this role
  • Proven track record of delivering data engineering solutions, preferably within Azure
  • Strong grasp of modern data technologies and agile project management
  • Experience in managing a team of Data Engineers and handling multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
