Are you a Lead Data Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Our client is looking for a strategic, hands-on data leader to shape and grow a brand-new Data & Insights department at an organisation driving change across the housing and energy sectors!

In this pivotal role, you'll lead the development of a modern Fabric lakehouse infrastructure to automate and scale their data services. A key part of your work will be to take ownership of "Heat Manager" a data-driven service that leverages heat network data to deliver actionable insights for social housing providers. Already delivering value in pilot form, the ambition is to grow this into a sector-wide solution.

What You'll Be Doing:

Define and lead the strategic direction of the Data & Insights function.

Build and manage a growing team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Design and deliver scalable data infrastructure, ensuring high standards in governance and security.

Drive the success of "Heat Manager" and other projects from inception to delivery.

Collaborate across internal teams and with clients to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

What We're Looking For:

3-5+ years in software/data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Strong experience in designing and managing data lake or lakehouse architectures.

A proven background in project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Solid understanding of Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability principles.
