The opportunity

As Lead Data Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and mentorship of the Data Engineering team helping them in the design, development, testing, and deployment of quality data analytics solutions and services.

This is a pivotal role in supporting the Partnership to be truly data led by equipping them with robust data platforms

Key Accountabilities:

Providing technical leadership by staying up to date on the latest technologies and trends and using that knowledge to help the team develop innovative and effective solutions Ownership of the technical solutions Mentorship Understanding and translating user requirements into technical specifications Designing and Implementing data solutions Writing and testing code Debugging and fixing software defects Maintaining and updating software Working with data engineers, trainers and stakeholders

What will you need to succeed?

Qualifications/ Experience:Strong commercial experience of data engineering and a proven track record of developing data solutions at the enterprise levelKnowledge:SQL Server (TSQL) Cloud services (Microsoft Azure preferably) SSIS, SSRS § Data modelling/ Power BI Data Warehouse and Report Layer design Strong SQL/database querying skills Microsoft BI (full stack) expertise (desirable) Azure DevOps Pipelines Azure Synapse experience (desirable) Azure Databricks experience (desirable)  Knowledge of Azure portal and Azure services Knowledge of Agile working and Azure DevOps Experience of data testingSkills and Competencies:Strong communication skills to be effective with both technical and non-technical audiences. Adaptable to change and open to new ideas with a willingness to help facilitate change A strong focus on delivery and delighting your customer Creative thinker Ability to apply sound judgement to situations needing balance between time and accuracy Strong stakeholder management skills
