About The Role
We areexcited to welcome a lead biofluid research scientist tolead our research on the characterisation ofinterstitial fluid. In this role, you will design and conduct experiments to investigate the biochemical composition, transport mechanisms, and physiological functions of interstitial fluid. Your work will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of biofluid dynamics and supporting the development of next generation biosensor applications. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic research environment. Experience with interstitial fluid is a MUST for this role.
This is a full-time, in-person role primarily based in London.
Some examples of what you might do:
- Design and conduct experiments to study the composition, dynamics, and properties of interstitial fluid
- Develop and optimise methods for the collection, processing, and analysis of interstitial fluid samples
- Characterise biomolecular components (e.g., proteins, metabolites, electrolytes, hormones) using advanced analytical techniques (e.g., mass spectrometry, chromatography, spectroscopy)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biomedical engineers, data scientists, and clinical researchers
- Analyse experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders
- Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies related to interstitial fluid research
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices for laboratory safety and data integrity
What You Bring
- A Ph. D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the following areas:
- Proven experience in research and characterisation of interstitial fluid
- Strong expertise in analytical techniques such as LC-MS, HPLC, spectroscopy, and microfluidics
- Knowledge of interstitial fluid physiology in clinical or translational research contexts
- Familiarity with biofluid collection methods and sample handling protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to design experiments and interpret complex data
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present scientific data effectively
- Experience with regulatory or clinical research environments is a plus
