Responsibilities

The Strategic Advisory group is one of the most experienced teams in the industry, and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex transactions in recent years. Our global team focuses on a diverse set of industries, including financial institutions, technology, media & telecommunications, natural resources, power & utilities, industrials healthcare, and real estate.

PJT Partners’ Strategic Advisory Comms, Digital Infra and Technology team in London is seeking a Junior Vice President/Senior Associate who would be responsible for the following:

  • Evaluating, structuring, and recommending financial and strategic alternatives, including the analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic combinations, asset sales, and divestitures.
  • Leading the day-to-day execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and the negotiating of contracts and other agreements; work with senior management and coordinate analyst materials.
  • Analysing financial data and developments in financial markets important to the business of PJT Partners.
  • Conducting research of targeted industries for investment purposes.
  • Performing valuation analysis of prospective investment opportunities under consideration, including the assessment of financial risks.
  • Comparing a company’s financial data with other companies of the same industry, size, and location to the forecast of industry trends.
  • Designing and developing quantitative models to assess the economic performance of targeted companies.
  • Preparing written analysis and evaluations of investment opportunities for use by PJT Partners management and review by clients.
  • Participating in both internal and external client meetings, negotiation of contracts and other agreements, and due diligence sessions.
  • Mentoring and training of juniors.

The successful applicant will be a critical member of PJT’s expanding TMT team with direct involvement in both deal execution and business development, working on lean deal teams with direct exposure to the most senior practitioners. The role will span across a number of sectors. Given the lean nature of our teams all our bankers are flexible and should be prepared to work in sectors/countries outside their main area of focus. The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience with financial modelling including developing detailed operating and valuation models for complex transactions.
  • Full breadth of financing (equity, equity linked and debt) and strategic advisory experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the TMT industry, specifically telecommunications, technology and digital infrastructure, and related transactions preferred.
  • Professional maturity and experience to interact directly with clients and drive origination and execution.
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills.
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 4-7 years of relevant investment banking or corporate development experience.
