Integration Engineer - (Remote, UK-Based) – up to £70,000 DOE + Benefits

About the Role

We’re seeking a technically skilled Integration Engineer with hands-on experience in healthcare interoperability. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in NHS systems and comfortable working with HL7, FHIR, and associated integration tools. You'll be joining a collaborative, agile team that’s focused on excellence in service and solution delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead integration efforts for assigned NHS client sites, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
Translate customer requirements into clear technical documentation and scalable solution designs
Build, configure and maintain interoperability solutions using HL7, FHIR and other standards
Peer review code and documentation, contributing to robust QA processes
Support testing phases, deployment planning, and post-launch support
Troubleshoot complex integration issues, escalating when appropriate
Uphold NHS security policies and data governance frameworks
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Drive continuous improvement across tools, libraries and development practices
Deliver knowledge-sharing and training sessions as needed
Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies and maintain certifications in line with personal development plans
Requirements

Demonstrable experience in integration engineering, technical consultancy, or interface development
Strong understanding of healthcare messaging standards (HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, APIs)
Hands-on experience with integration tools (e.g. Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Health Connect or similar)
Familiarity with NHS systems and protocols (e.g. Spine, GP Connect, SNOMED CT)
Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution
Excellent written and verbal communication; confident working with clients and cross-functional teams
Strong time management skills and ability to deliver across multiple projects
Experience writing high-quality technical documentation
