About us

Avencia is partnering with a specialist insurance platform to recruit for an entry-level Operations Analyst position. Our client supports high-performing insurance teams by providing comprehensive business services across executive management, consultancy, finance, compliance, and IT. They work with motivated, niche teams handling complex and innovative insurance transactions and are part of a wider international insurance group with offices in key global locations.

The role

This entry-level position offers a strong foundation in the specialty insurance market and can lead to future roles in finance, operations, or analytics. The insurance products involved are complex, offering the opportunity to develop strong problem-solving and analytical skills. The role will involve close collaboration with other departments, offering broad exposure to various operational processes and the wider insurance landscape.

Key accountabilities

Day-to-day duties will include:

Policy Binding: Supporting the end-to-end process of binding insurance policies, including data entry and documentation.

Query Resolution: Handling queries and contributing to longer-term projects focused on improving data quality.

Cash Allocation: Working with the finance team to allocate and reconcile premium payments accurately and promptly.

Process Improvement: Identifying areas for increased efficiency and proposing solutions to enhance workflows.

Cross-Team Support: Assisting multiple teams with administrative tasks and participating in collaborative projects.

Compliance: Ensuring adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Additional Duties: Carrying out other tasks as required by the line manager in line with the role.

Working Environment
The role is primarily Excel-based, involving the preparation, review, and reporting of data to various teams. Daily tasks will include standard reviews and data entry, with longer-term projects around data cleansing, portfolio management, and query resolution assigned within the team.

Training and Development
Training will include a blend of on-the-job learning, structured sessions, and e-learning modules. Successful candidates will be expected to apply their training to varied scenarios, demonstrating adaptability and initiative.

Location
The role is based in the Croydon office, conveniently located near East and West Croydon stations. The client has additional offices across London, Ireland, and Bermuda as part of their broader group structure.
