The Insight and Analytics (I&A) department at the Telegraph consists of Insight and Analytics experts, together with Data Scientists & Researchers. We are recruiting a graduate to rotate through the subscriptions, editorial and advertising teams within the I&A department, giving you wide experience of many aspects of insights & analytics functions including reporting, data analysis and insight.  This exciting opportunity will provide a wide and varied grounding in data analytics and reporting and is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high performing team. 


The main purpose of the role is to support and deliver reporting, insight, and analysis requirements for the business to help drive reader engagement, subscriptions, product usage and advertising success. This will help the business understand performance and identify opportunities to continue our business growth. This could include reviewing the performance of our subscribers, registrants, journalism, website, app, advertising, newsletters or emails.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Building relationships across the business from our Subscriptions, Editorial, Commercial and our supporting functions to better understand how data and insights influences, supports and informs decisions. 
  • Play a key role in building, maintaining and improving the delivery of high quality reports and dashboards to key stakeholders from across the organisation.
  • Proactively presenting data and insight in a meaningful and compelling way to answer wide ranging business briefs.
  • Share knowledge and understanding with the wider Insight and Analytics team. 
  • Champion a metric oriented culture in the Telegraph.
  • Develop, through comprehensive training, an understanding of complex analytics skills

Requirements

  • A graduate with a numerate degree and/or experience within data insight/ analytics / research.
  • Experience using a programming language such as SQL is desirable but not required. If you do not have experience in SQL, you should possess a keen interest to learn.
  • Demonstrable use of Microsoft Office/Google Docs.
  • An interest in analytics  and the media industry. 
  • Proactive, curious, self-confident, highly motivated team player.
