We are currently recruiting for an IFS Developer to join our ERP team, helping us to design, customise, and successfully deliver our ERP system as required.

This role could be based at our Manchester city centre or Whitley, Yorkshire office, working on a hybrid basis. You would need to be flexible based on project and business requirements and expect to be onsite more for your first few weeks, but we are flexible on the number of days required onsite on average per week/month.

What will you be doing in this role?

As an ERP (IFS) developer at Tunstall, you will play a critical role in designing, customising, and maintaining our ERP systems to streamline and integrate our business processes seamlessly. You will analyse our organisational needs, develop custom functionalities, and implement modules tailored to our unique requirements. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure that our workflows are optimised, data integration is seamless, and system performance is at its best. In addition, you will troubleshoot technical issues, provide training and support to our teams, and stay up-to-date with the latest ERP advancements to continually enhance our system capabilities and ensure our operations remain efficient and future-ready.

The Ideal candidate:

You will be a proven IFS Developer with a detailed understanding of the IFS ERP development lifecycle and technical architecture layers. You will have good communication skills, able to convey complex concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders. Having a proactive and inquisitive mindset, happy to constructively challenge accepted norms, and influence and persuade others is vital to the success of this role.

Key skills and experience:

Detailed understanding of the IFS ERP Development Lifecycle & Technical Architecture Layers,

Experience with IFS Developer Studio and the IFS Build Place,

Experience with Oracle Database systems and PL/SQL Development,

Familiarity with ETL processes and tools,

Familiarity with integration technologies and protocols including Web Services, XML, Rest API,

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail,

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively,

Able to work independently and be accountable for timely delivery of work product,

Proactive in approach with a natural inquisitiveness happy to challenge accepted norms,

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to influence and persuade,

Able to combine and convey complex concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable skills and experience:

Experience with IFS Business Reporter, IFS Report Studio, IFS Report Designer,

Experience with Crystal Reports,

Experience with Data architecture and modelling,

Oracle PL/SQL Professional Certification,

Familiarity with Azure DevOps principles, tools and methodologies,

Experience with additional Database Management Systems (SQL Server, Sybase, MongoDB, etc.),

Experience building and utilising SSIS Packages,

Experience building BI Reporting Solutions (Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, etc.).

Some of your key day to day tasks will be…

Contribute to the delivery of a global, unified ERP System,

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Business Functions to gather and translate business needs into clear technical specifications,

Collaborate with the Solution Architect and development team to define and adhere to development guidelines and best practices,

Utilise IFS Developer Studio & PL/SQL Developer to conduct the development and implementation of customisation and configuration activities within the IFS Build Place,

Conduct comprehensive unit testing to guarantee successful deliveries,

Evaluate, develop, test, and deploy data repair scripts to address data integrity requirements,

Evaluate, develop, test, and deploy solutions for ETL and Data Migration within IFS (Migration Jobs, Ext File Loads, etc),

Provide 3rd line technical support including troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems,

Evaluate and enhance IFS implementation and integration processes, incorporating emerging trends and technologies,

Maintain documentation for technical components, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations,

Develop a strong understanding of business processes to ensure optimal system configuration,

Identify opportunities to exploit product features that could enable process efficiencies.
