Key job responsibilities

  • Own generating actionable insights through the development of metrics and dashboards.
  • Analyze relevant business information, and uncover trends and correlations to develop insights that can materially improve our product and strategy decisions.
  • Provide insights to our Canada business and Product Management teams as new initiatives are being identified, prioritized, implemented and deployed.
  • Develop clear communications for recommended actions.
  • Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of initiatives.
  • Work to accelerate Amazon Business machine learning efforts to scale globally.

    A day in the life
    The role will focus on providing insights to allow our Amazon Business team to make fast, accurate, and impactful decisions. The role will focus on reporting, analysis, and facilitating business reviews across our business teams. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for data, analytics, insights and technology who is eager to have a broad impact across one of the fastest growing e-commerce businesses in the world.

    About the team
    We are central Amazon Business Marketing Analytics (ABMA) team for WW AB Marketing team. Our vision is to simplify and accelerate data driven decision making for AB Marketing by providing cost effective, easy & timely access to high quality data. Our core responsibilities towards AB marketing includes a) providing systems(infrastructure) & workflows that allow ingestion, storage, processing and querying of data b) building ready-to-use datasets for easy and faster access to the data c) automating standard business analysis / reporting/ dashboarding d) empowering business with self-service tools for deep dives & insights seeking. The value construct of these capabilities is to enhance the speed of business decision-making by reducing the effort & time to access actionable data.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
