Job Description:

A global insurer is looking to hire a Head of Data Analytics for their London Market team. The business is well known and has had double digit growth year on year for the past 15 years.

This is an AVP level position and it is essential that the individual has London Market experience.

The Role:

  • Lead the London Market Analytics team, overseeing data scientists, engineers, and technical experts to deliver impactful, analytics-led solutions.
  • Partner with underwriting stakeholders to design predictive models and tools that enhance decision-making and portfolio profitability.
  • Drive the development and deployment of advanced analytics techniques including GLMs, GBMs, NLP, and machine learning methods.
  • Ensure effective project planning, prioritization, and alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams and departments to solve complex business problems.
  • Develop actionable insights using diverse analytical tools and technologies to support strategic decisions.
  • Explore and analyze internal and external datasets to support advanced model development.
  • Provide thought leadership on new opportunities for analytics to support London Market underwriting.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth and collaborative culture.
  • Apply strong data manipulation skills using Python, SQL, and visualization tools like PowerBI.
  • Utilize or be familiar with cloud-based platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
