Finance Data Governance and Reporting Analyst

AsFinance Data Governance & Reporting Analyst, you have the opportunity to shape the future of our data landscape and make a real impact.

You will be an essential part of our team, reporting to the Finance Data Governance Manager. You will work closely with Finance Stakeholders, Business Partners, Technology and Central Data Team. We're committed to excellence, and we want you to be part of our journey as we redefine finance data.

What You'll Be Doing:

Defining KPIs and Critical Data Elements:You'll work closely with stakeholders to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for Finance Data. Your goal is to represent Finance as a Data Steward while adhering to our Data Governance Minimum Standard.

Data Reconciliation: Be responsible for regular daily reconciliation at transactional, KPI & balance level between Data and accounting systems, raising incidents as appropriate and tracking and reporting resolution. Where required take a hands-on role to resolve discrepancies.

Data Quality and Governance:You'll be responsible for ensuring accuracy, data quality, and governance reporting across Finance, starting from our state-of-the-art front-end Motor platform to our central Data Platform and Finance Data and Accounting systems.

Integration and Adoption:You'll play a key role in integrating and adopting new Data Products and Systems into existing processes. Your role includes maintaining accuracy and consistency through reconciliations and reporting of KPIs/CDEs across the entire estate.

Collaboration:You'll work closely with Finance Stakeholders, Business Partners, Technology, and the Central Data Team to ensure a seamless data environment

Other Accountabilities:

Define Technical and Business Definitions

Maintain Data Governance assets, including Dictionaries, Glossaries, Data Contracts, and Lineage using our Data Governance tool, Axon.

Data Quality Dashboard: Design and maintain a Data Quality dashboard, reporting on reconciliations and data quality across Finance Data Systems and from source systems into Finance.

Change Management: Manage the change process for new KPIs, including approvals and testing before deployment to production, as well as the removal of KPIs that are no longer required.

Data Advocacy: Be an advocate for Data Governance and Data Centricity within Finance and across the business.

What we’re looking for:

Understanding of the insurance business and its data

Data specialist with a proven track record in data analysis and reporting

Understanding of Data Governance and Controls

Understanding of Financial data and reconciliation processes. Insurance Accounting experience would be an advantage
