We’re building a world-class client success organization. In this role, you’ll be involved in building client relationships and managing a portfolio of data science engagements.

The engagement director works closely with the director of client success and technical delivery leads to manage client relationships, ensure the overall success of data science projects, and drive retention, new revenue, and customer satisfaction.

How you'll help:

Build credibility. Become an established, trusted adviser to our clients by developing deep knowledge of a client’s strategic needs and aligning those needs with data science analytics opportunities, products/solutions within E Source Data Science, and best practices within or outside of the utility industry. Stakeholder content. Create persuasive presentations and other meaningful content to showcase project impacts and results, establish expertise, and support stakeholder engagement. Project communications. Translate complex topics and communicate clearly and consistently with clients and internal teams to shepherd projects from initiation to completion. Project management. Collaborate with technical project leads to ensure on-time delivery and monitor project hours and project margin. Strategic planning. Leverage vision and critical thinking to see multiple steps ahead and then take proactive steps to influence a project and ensure client success. Client retention. Create purposeful and customized plans to communicate value propositions, generate high customer satisfaction, and guide clients toward renewals and advocacy. Product development. Support the development of industry-leading data science offerings by facilitating voice-of-the-customer feedback and connecting client needs with company capabilities. Expand reach. Develop measurable strategies for increasing sphere of influence within the current client base and facilitate effective discussions to create interest in our service offerings and capabilities. Drive expansion revenue. Effectively scope new projects with current clients and execute the proposal development process in partnership with the director of client success and data science teams.

Basic qualifications

Minimum of five years’ experience in customer-facing roles (internal or external clients) Minimum of three years’ experience in leadership roles Proven track record in building strong client relationships Implementation and project management experience Agile or Waterfall experience Bachelor’s degree; business or technical field preferred Experience with utility grid (electric transmission and distribution), with customers (products and programs), or in another highly regulated industry

Preferred qualifications

MBA or equivalent post-baccalaureate experience Management consulting experience Large-scale management experience Experience with data science, data analytics, or another technical field Entrepreneurial experience

The budgeted salary for this position is$130,000 to $170,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

This person can work remote, but expected to travel to Birmingham, AL10 business days a month at minimum.
