An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a 3-month secondment post of Emergency Department Data Analyst. The role will concentrate on data entry, analysis and submission onto the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR).

The submission of trauma patients onto NMTR involves working through interesting and complex trauma cases and uploading the details of the hospital attendances, admissions, treatments and diagnoses onto the registry. This allows audit and review of the trauma processed across the wider trauma network.

The role sits under the management structure of the Emergency Department. As such, the post holder will support the Emergency Department Leadership team with data and analytics across many metrics to identify opportunities to improve operational performance.

The postholder will work on a variety of projects, providing advice, guidance and support to the Specialty Manager and clinical team within the Emergency Department Division.

The role is 0.8 WTE which equates to 30 working hours per week. Exact days and hours can be discussed upon appointment.

To work as part of the Emergency Department team, completing analysis of operational performance measures, including statutory reporting requirements.

  • Excellent IT skills specifically using Excel, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint.
  • To manage computerised and manual filing systems
  • Ability to interrogate data using Excel; providing analysis and reports for Team and Senior Management meetings.
  • Awareness and understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and data protection procedures.
Experience / KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • Experience in data management and information systems.
  • Experience in development of reports including competence in Microsoft Excel or similar database packages.
