Founder, Director of Executive Talent Acquisition

Are you a strategic data leader ready to shape the future of BI in a fast-moving, global entertainment business? We’re hiring a Business Intelligence Director to lead a high-performing BI function that powers game innovation, commercial strategy, and player experience across regulated markets.

This is a senior leadership role with real impact—defining data architecture, driving analytics excellence, and embedding data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role

As BI Director, you’ll own the data strategy end‑to‑end. From ETL pipelines and visualisation tools to content recommendation systems and GDPR compliance, you’ll ensure the business is equipped with the insights, infrastructure, and governance needed to scale.

You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders across product, commercial, and technology teams, translating business challenges into actionable data solutions. You’ll also lead the BI team—developing talent, setting priorities, and delivering high‑impact projects that support strategic growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the BI strategy aligned with business goals
  • Oversee data architecture, ETL processes, and visualisation stack (e.g., Tableau, AWS Redshift)
  • Lead development of new product features and game mechanics through data insights
  • Guide the design and optimisation of content recommendation systems
  • Improve reporting tools for internal teams and external partners
  • Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulations
  • Build and mentor a high-performing BI team
  • Manage analysis pipelines and prioritise ad‑hoc vs. strategic requests
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and security across all systems
  • Collaborate with leadership to embed data into decision‑making

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading BI or analytics teams at scale
  • Advanced technical expertise in Tableau, MySQL, Python, and modern BI tools
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, modelling, and governance
  • Experience in iGaming is a must have
  • Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution capability
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with GDPR and willingness to act as DPO if not already certified

Why This Role?

  • Shape the data backbone of a global entertainment business
  • Lead innovation in game design, player experience, and commercial strategy
  • Collaborate with visionary leaders across product and tech
  • Enjoy autonomy, impact, and the chance to build something exceptional

Why Data Science Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Data science once meant advanced statistics, machine learning models and coding in Python or R. In the UK today, it has become one of the most in-demand professions across sectors — from healthcare to finance, retail to government. But as the field matures, employers now expect more than technical modelling skills. Modern data science is multidisciplinary. It requires not just coding and algorithms, but also legal knowledge, ethical reasoning, psychological insight, linguistic clarity and human-centred design. Data scientists are expected to interpret, communicate and apply data responsibly, with awareness of law, human behaviour and accessibility. In this article, we’ll explore why data science careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five disciplines intersect with data science, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to succeed in this transformed field.

Data Science Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Data Science Department

Data science is one of the most in-demand, dynamic, and multidisciplinary areas in the UK tech and business landscape. Organisations from finance, retail, health, government, and beyond are using data to drive decisions, automate processes, personalise services, predict trends, detect fraud, and more. To do that well, companies don’t just need good data scientists; they need teams with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, workflows, collaboration, and governance. If you're aiming for a role in data science or recruiting for one, understanding the structure of a data science department—and who does what—can make all the difference. This article breaks down the key roles, how they interact across the lifecycle of a data science project, what skills and qualifications are typical in the UK, expected salary ranges, challenges, trends, and how to build or grow an effective team.
