Digital Project Lead

Company

Akkodis is a global leader in engineering, technology, and R&D, harnessing the power of connected data to drive digital transformation and innovation for a smarter, more sustainable future. As part of the Adecco Group, Akkodis combines the expertise of AKKA and Modis, with over 50,000 engineers and digital specialists across 30 countries in North America, EMEA, and APAC. Our teams bring extensive cross-sector knowledge in critical technology areas such as mobility, software services, robotics, simulations, cybersecurity, AI, and data analytics, enabling clients to tackle complex challenges in today’s rapidly evolving markets.

With a comprehensive solution portfolio across four service lines—Consulting, Solutions, Talents, and Academy—Akkodis supports clients from concept through to full-scale deployment and optimisation. Our diverse offerings help organisations rethink product development, accelerate productivity, reduce time-to-market, and prepare for the future. At Akkodis, you’ll join a dynamic environment that values continuous learning and global collaboration, where you can make a meaningful impact through innovative projects that shape the future of technology.

Scope

Akkodis is launching a new technical delivery team to drive a UK national program in collaboration with key partners, designed to transform and future-proof the central government’s workforce. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships, and a comprehensive SaaS-based platform, this program will create an advanced, candidate-centric experience tailored to meet tomorrow’s public sector skill demands.

This high-impact initiative offers a unique opportunity to join a team dedicated to building a scalable, data-driven recruitment ecosystem. Through redesigning, building, and rolling out a sophisticated Big Data system, our diverse roles span across architecture, project management, data analytics, development, and technical support, giving you the chance to shape a dynamic, next-gen digital infrastructure.

Role

The Digital Project Lead (DPL) will play a pivotal role in delivering this transformative program. With a strong background in digital/cloud environments and experience working with SaaS or IaaS solutions, the DPL will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital initiatives. This includes planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.

As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you will spearhead efforts to integrate innovative technology solutions, drive agile project delivery, and support the creation of a scalable digital ecosystem that meets both immediate and long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of digital projects within the program, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, data analysts, and technical support staff.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners and stakeholders to align project goals with the overall vision of the program.
  • Manage project documentation, timelines, and risk assessments, leveraging agile methodologies.
  • Oversee the deployment of cloud-based SaaS and IaaS solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Ensure compatibility with AWS and Azure environments, as well as virtual infrastructures in secure and hybrid functionalities.
  • Conduct regular status updates, report progress to senior management, and address any challenges proactively.
  • Champion the use of data-driven decision-making to optimise project outcomes and foster continuous improvement.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record of managing complex digital projects in a cloud environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS or IaaS platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Big Data systems and scalable digital infrastructures.
  • Experience working within AWS or Azure environments and managing virtual infrastructures with secure and hybrid functionalities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with government or public sector clients.

Required Skills

  • Project management expertise, including proficiency in agile methodologies (essential).
  • Strong technical acumen, with a deep understanding of digital/cloud technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Scrum practices.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with Six-Sigma methodologies.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications) are desirable
