Job title-Digital Product Owner

Location:preferably Waltham on the Wolds (Lincs, Leics, Notts), or otherwise can be based in London, but you would need to travel to the office in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire once a month.

A less preferred but possible option is to be based in Leeds.

Hybrid:2 days a week in the office


Contract length:12 months + extensions

Rate:£200 to £320 per day PAYE - Inside IR35


Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Digital Product Owner to work for a global leader in Pet Nutrition.

This role is crucial in connecting the business to its powerful data systems, driving improvements and ensuring high-quality data is at the heart of all decision-making.


Purpose of the Role:

As Digital Product Owner, you will be the primary point of contact for various data systems within the organization. You will be responsible for the ongoing management and improvement of established systems, as well as contributing to the development and deployment of new systems. Your understanding of how these systems function is key to effectively bridging the gap between the business and the technical teams that support them.

This is a global role involving a vast amount of data generated from every aspect of pet nutrition, including product development and the consumption of pet food. The company has invested significantly in standardizing and centralizing this data, using cutting-edge tools and AI-driven solutions. Your role is to leverage this data to optimize processes, drive insights and inform decision-making.

You'll be using dashboards and analytical tools to interrogate data and identify opportunities for improvement. This role involves identifying system challenges, collaborating with technical teams to develop solutions, and driving change within the business to ensure seamless system performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of digital products or system to support product performance in Pet Nutrition.
  • Responsible for ensuring a deep understanding of each solution at the data, technical and business process levels.
  • Work with operational and data customers to ensure the system meets their needs and be the primary point of contact for IT partners, representing needs and priorities at an operational level.
  • Partner with the internal technical team who will deliver the IT aspects of the solution
  • Understand and clarify business needs - both operational and strategic by working with a range of stakeholders. Work with internal IT partners to identify and scope suitable solutions, ensuring that data standards are maintained and integration requirements are clearly defined.
  • Responsible for successful deliver of transformation projects. Ensure that projects are implemented on time/budget and that business change management is carried out to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • All aspects of owning the system (e.g. organisation, security, support, training etc.) must be fully covered. Solutions must be fit for purpose and must transition successfully into our environment, serving the needs of both our operational customers and data scientists.
  • Ensure that the systems or product ownership and support models are clearly defined and contribute to support activities where necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring that high quality data is presented from the products to our researchers, and the data dictionaries maintained in the data catalogue.


Key Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to degree level in an IT subject.
  • Comprehensive understanding of modern enterprise IT practices, especially system and product integration, micro-services, data management and data lakes.
  • Strong project management skills (both agile and waterfall approaches) and experience of effective stakeholder management
  • Experience of product lifecycle management principles and tools (e.g. DevOps) and relational database manipulation and interrogation.
  • Experience in R&D environment is desirable.
