Deputy Financial Controller (Part-Time)

Location: Norwich (Hybrid / Flexible Working)

Hours: 20-25 per week

Salary: £45,000-£55,000 FTE

Progression to Financial Controller in 12 Months

We're delighted to be working exclusively with Big Sky Living, a growing and purpose-driven property development business based in Norwich, to recruit a part-time Deputy Financial Controller.

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation with strong values, a supportive culture, and a clear plan for growth. The Role

This newly created role will report into the Interim Financial Controller and is ideally suited to someone with previous experience at Financial Controller level, looking for a part-time, flexible position with career progression. You'll be instrumental in supporting the wider operations team, offering financial insight, and playing a strategic role in shaping the future of the business.

A standout feature of this opportunity is the clear pathway to becoming Financial Controller within 12 months, making it ideal for someone with ambition who is ready to step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with operational teams to highlight financial implications and drive performance
Deliver insightful financial analysis and strategic support to senior leadership
Support the migration from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct, ensuring data integrity and smooth adoption
Take a hands-on approach to reporting, forecasting, and system improvements
Help influence financial strategy in line with the company's growth plans
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone commercially astute, systems-savvy, and capable of seeing the bigger picture.

You will have:

Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance role
Strong knowledge of financial systems-experience with Sage 50 is essential; Sage Intacct a bonus
Confidence working across teams, with the ability to communicate financial implications clearly
A qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or at minimum, AAT Level 3)
Bonus points for:

Experience in the property development or construction sectors
Leading or supporting finance system transitions
