Role Purpose 

This senior role combines technical leadership with strategic thinking to build, enhance, and deliver data solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and Fabric. You will work closely with sales teams and clients to identify opportunities to optimize technology ecosystems, ensuring readiness for AI-driven transformation. 

You’ll support the development of a robust Data & AI framework, enabling scalable and future-ready solutions while mentoring the team to achieve technical and professional excellence. 

Key Responsibilities 

Design, implement, and optimize Azure-based data platforms, focusing on Fabric and AI readiness.  Drive innovation in data solutions, ensuring alignment with clients’ evolving business needs.  Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle, including extraction, transformation, integration, and analytics.  Collaborate with sales teams to identify and articulate technology enhancement opportunities for clients.  Translate technical capabilities into commercial value propositions for stakeholders.  Lead client discussions, presenting tailored solutions aligned with their digital transformation goals.  Provide mentorship and leadership to the Data & AI team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.  Support embedding a structured Data & AI framework, enabling scalability and standardisation across projects.  Act as a technical advisor, supporting the professional development of team members.  Anticipate and identify trends in data and AI technologies to future-proof client solutions.  Advocate for and implement AI-enhanced capabilities in client ecosystems, leveraging the full Microsoft stack.  Promote best practices in data governance, security, and scalability. 

Requirements

Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric  Proficiency in Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service).  Strong understanding of data architecture, integration, and AI-readiness design.  Familiarity with emerging AI tools and technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem.  Proven track record of mentoring and supporting high-performing teams.  Ability to embed frameworks and standardize practices across data and AI projects.  A strategic mindset with the ability to inspire teams and clients towards future-ready solutions.  Strong commercial awareness with the ability to articulate technical solutions in business terms.  Experience in identifying opportunities and influencing senior stakeholders.  Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and exceed client expectations.  Exposure to other Microsoft technologies (, .Net, Dynamics 365, SharePoint).  Experience working in a Microsoft Partner environment.

Location 

This is a hybrid role and can be based either from our Reading, Glasgow or Manchester offices, or home. Please expect planned travel which may involve overnight stays near customers, our offices and other UK locations for meetings, events and training.
