Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist (Junior or Senior) to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data analysis and Python programming, with a strong focus on creating data-driven solutions for our clients in the financial services sector. This role does not involve data engineering tasks but requires working across multiple data and business domains to derive insights and build predictive models that drive strategic decision-making.
Salary: up to £70,000
The Role
Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and data visualisation to identify trends, patterns, and insights in complex datasets. Python Programming: Develop, implement, and optimise algorithms using Python to process, analyse, and model data. Model Development: Build, test, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms tailored to solve specific business problems in the financial services sector. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders, to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions. Reporting & Communication: Present findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear, concise reports and visualisations. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and relevant technologies to ensure that the solutions provided are cutting-edge and effective.
The Person
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience:
– Junior Level: 1-3 years of experience in data science, preferably within the financial services industry.
– Senior Level: 4+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data solutions in financial services. Technical Skills:
– Proficient in Python and its data science libraries
– Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical methods and data visualisation tools
– Familiarity with machine learning frameworks Soft Skills:
– Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
– Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
– Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
