Data Scientist – London or Glasgow | Hybrid


The Data Gals is working with a top-tier, award-winning organisation at the forefront of digital transformation within professional services. With a strong reputation for innovation and cross-functional collaboration, they are growing their data and analytics team to support next-generation solutions.


We’re looking for a Data Scientist who’s passionate about innovation, experimentation, and using data to drive strategic decisions. You’ll join a dynamic environment that blends subject matter expertise, digital tools, and modern methodologies to design smarter, scalable, data-driven services.


Location

  • Open to candidates based near Glasgow (up to £55k) or London (up to £65k)


Key Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and deploy data models and analytical solutions that support transformation and digital service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover patterns, surface insights, and shape future services.
  • Apply statistical techniques, machine learning models, and exploratory data analysis to diverse, often complex datasets.
  • Communicate findings through visual storytelling, dashboards, and reports tailored for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the wider strategy by supporting innovation pilots, data quality initiatives, and automation projects.


What You’ll Need

  • Strong experience in Python, SQL, and common data science libraries (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
  • Experience in developing, testing, and deploying data models in a real-world business setting.
  • Comfortable working with unstructured data and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data environments (e.g. GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Great communicator who can translate complex analysis into business-friendly insights.
  • Passion for solving real-world problems using data and a curiosity for legal or regulated sectors.


Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with generative AI or natural language processing tools.
  • Experience working in a service-led or consulting environment.
  • Understanding of data ethics, governance, and responsible AI use.
