We are hiring for two complementary roles as part of our growing Data capability:

Roles

  • Lead Data Scientist: Sit within the Product Organisation, under the Innovation function, and part of the Data Product Area. Lead the development of enterprise-grade data solutions and advanced analytics, including AI, automation, and new data products. Responsible for solution design, prototype development, strategic experimentation, and integration into broader architecture. Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Data Scientist: Support operational and strategic needs within the central Data Function under the Head of Data. Focus on projects that improve efficiency, transparency, and performance using dashboards, automation, and analytics techniques. Ideal for those looking to grow in an applied data science environment.

Both roles are within the Technology Function, aligned with our Product, Platform, Data model. They offer opportunities to contribute to an ambitious data agenda, developing analytics solutions that provide real insights and value across legal and operational domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the firm's AI strategy and roadmap.
  • Develop and implement data science and analytics use cases aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with teams to frame problems and translate into analytical projects.
  • Design and deploy predictive models and AI/ML prototypes.
  • Support self-serve analytics adoption and internal enablement initiatives.

Data Product Development

  • Build interpretable models for forecasting, classification, clustering, and optimization.
  • Create impactful Power BI dashboards and self-serve tools.
  • Lead solution design and prototyping for the Lead Data Scientist role.

Governance & Architecture

  • Maintain certified data models and documentation.
  • Embed governance principles, especially for sensitive datasets.
  • Work with data engineers on scalable workflows.
  • Optimize TCO by reusing and rationalizing legacy assets.

Teamwork & Upskilling

  • Contribute to the Mishcon Academy and upskilling efforts.
  • Support knowledge sharing and mentoring.
  • Promote responsible AI and explainability.

Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on Python (pandas, numpy), SQL, Power BI experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • For Lead: experience in end-to-end analytics solutions.
  • For Data Scientist: exposure to data science projects.

Additional Qualities

  • Curious, forward-thinking, business-aware, collaborative, self-directed, ethical.

Working Pattern & Location

Hybrid roles based in London, requiring regular onsite work for close collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
