We’re partnering with an innovative AI/ML company based in Nottingham that’s revolutionising the retail industry with its groundbreaking AI-powered platform. Their cutting-edge system doesn’t just analyse data—it predicts consumer trends, automates merchandising strategies, optimises inventory, and enhances the overall customer experience. The platform is already transforming the way retail businesses operate, driving more informed decisions with real-time, AI-driven insights.
The AI platform utilises advanced machine learning to process vast datasets—such as customer behaviour, transactional data, supply chain information, and external market factors—and automates processes to maximise sales and profitability. By anticipating consumer demand, improving stock management, and even designing personalised marketing strategies, the platform enables retailers to run more efficiently and cost-effectively.
What You’ll Do:
As a Junior to Mid-Level Data Scientist , you’ll be working directly with advanced AI algorithms to enhance and improve the platform’s ability to drive insights and automation within the retail sector. You will help refine models that predict purchasing trends, optimise product assortments, and enhance customer engagement through intelligent decision-making tools.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Developing machine learning models that forecast demand, optimise inventory management, and generate personalised recommendations for customers. You’ll help retailers predict which products will sell best in different regions or during different seasons, allowing for more efficient stock management.
Building predictive models using real-time retail data, such as sales trends, customer behaviour, and external factors (e.g., social media sentiment or weather patterns). These models will help businesses optimise pricing, promotions, and overall product offerings.
Improving data pipelines and handling large volumes of data from multiple sources, including e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale systems, and external market datasets. Your models will improve the AI’s ability to make real-time, data-driven decisions for retailers.
Collaborating with engineers and senior data scientists to refine algorithms, ensuring they are tailored to the fast-paced nature of the retail industry. The models will help businesses adapt quickly to changing consumer trends, seasonal demand, and market dynamics.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
1+ year(s) of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science.
Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn .
Strong understanding of data analysis , feature engineering , and model evaluation techniques, particularly with retail and consumer-facing data.
Passion for AI and the retail industry, with a desire to help businesses improve operational efficiencies and enhance the customer experience.
