Job title:Data Scientist-AI Engineer

Salary:£47683+ dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with others to create AI solutions that are impactful, scalable and thoughtfully developed—from early-stage ideas to real-world applications

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, analysts and subject matter experts to co-create solutions that reflect a deep understanding of user and business needs

  • Help ensure that AI systems are transparent, inclusive and aligned with ethical guidelines and governance frameworks, contributing to trust in AI technologies

  • Keep up with emerging trends—especially in generative AI—and explore how they can be thoughtfully applied to benefit the organisation and its users

  • Help foster an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, curiosity is encouraged and team members feel empowered to learn, experiment and grow together

Your skills and experiences:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Python and familiarity with key AI/ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Hugging Face Transformers

  • Experience training and fine-tuning machine learning models, ideally including large language models (LLMs) or other deep learning approaches

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with data scientists, engineers and stakeholders in an agile, team-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques or experience using vector databases such as Qdrant

  • Awareness of MLOps tools and practices, including versioning tools such as DVC

  • Understanding of ethical considerations in AI, including bias mitigation and responsible machine learning practices

  • Relevant Degree or Experience in this area
