Data Scientist / AI Consultant – London (Hybrid, 2-3 days office)We are like an app store for the railway, taking complex rail data and creating bespoke products/apps for rail staff to use day-to-day. We also provide consulting and data science expertise to help the rail industry tackle its most difficult problems.

This post is for YOU if: you are an experienced data scientist / data consultant (min. 1-2 years experience using rail data) OR data scientist with experience in other industry (min. 2-5 years) and looking to make a career transition to rail consulting. We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates with data science experience in rail, since this is our specialism.

We are a start-up of ~15 employees. Every day brings new challenges and the opportunity to make a visible difference from Day 1.

As a Data Scientist you will be working collaboratively within a JNCTION project team to help rail industry clients. Your work location will be a mix of our Farringdon office, client sites and home office.

This role provides the platform to take your career to the next level. You will be working alongside experienced rail consulting and product design colleagues. As a start-up there is also plenty of space for you to lead an area of business development (such as marketing, recruitment, learning & development).

Must have requirements:

  • Clear experience as a data scientist
  • Interested in rail and transport
  • Pro-active
  • Good with numbers/data/code
  • Solid AI / Machine Learning / Data Science theory
  • Fast learner
  • Be based in London or within commutable distance
  • Rail industry experience
  • GitHub repo or similar to demonstrate projects experience
  • Experience: Early careers rail data scientist (min. 1-2 years) or experienced data scientist from other industry (min. 2-5 years)
  • Industry/Type of business: Rail start-up
  • Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in Farringdon office)
  • Interview process: 3 stages (First Interview, Tech test and Cultural Fit Interview)
  • Working on: data science / AI / machine learning / data analysis / data engineering / cloud
