Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Data Science Manager to partner with Visa Consulting & Analytics and co-develop data-driven solutions to help Visa’s clients grow their businesses. 

This role reports to the Head of UK&I Client Data Science and involves collaboration with Visa Consulting and Analytics among other Visa departments to understand their client requirements and create data-driven solutions.

 

What we expect of you, day to day

  • Develop a deep understanding of Visa’s data assets and how they can be used to enhance client profitability across acquisition, usage, and retention
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and desired outcomes, leading to the definition of a detailed analytical plan
  • Execute on the analytical plan with appropriate statistical techniques, creating powerful, business-centric insights from data through better visualisation and storyboarding
  • Provide subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex Data Science projects
  • Identify trends in our client work to inform Visa’s data product development path
  • Enhancing existing solutions and approaches by promoting new methodology and best practices in data science field

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications

What we’re after…

Graduate/Post Graduate degree (e.g. Master’s or Ph.D.) in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experience
Results oriented with strong analytical, consultative, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Hands-on experience with modern distributed systems, including both Hadoop/SQL and Apache Spark
Hands-on experience with one or more data analytics/programming tools such as R/Python
Experience in the application of predictive modelling and machine learning technique to business problems
Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in payments industry (bank, credit reference agencies, Fintech) or management-consulting firm.
Hands on experience on processing extremely large data sets. Knowledge of payment network transactional data is a plus
Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations and delivery
