Ensure housing data is accurate and reliable, enabling us to serve our residents better.

As a Data Quality and Performance Officer in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all data within our Housing Management systems. The quality of your work will directly shape how we make decisions, measure success and ultimately deliver better services for our residents.

Working Style

You’ll be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be based in the Borough supporting the delivery of excellent housing services through accurate, timely and reliable data. Your main responsibility will be to oversee, maintain and improve the quality of information held within our Housing Management systems.

You’ll carry out regular data audits to identify inconsistencies, errors, or gaps and work with the Performance Manager to address these through corrective action plans and improved processes. Using root cause analysis, you’ll help identify why issues occur and recommend practical, long‑term solutions.

A regular part of your work will involve producing and sharing reports to help managers track and improve performance. You’ll develop a suite of operational and performance reports that are clear, accurate and meaningful to a range of audiences. As a CRM Performance Super User, you’ll champion data‑driven working – promoting the use of dashboards, training colleagues to interpret results and supporting them in developing reports for their own teams.

You’ll work collaboratively across departments, building strong relationships with colleagues and external partners to enhance service delivery. You’ll also manage administrative tasks such as monitoring the team mailbox, assisting with data requests and supporting the Performance Manager with housing data analysis and reporting.

For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring a sharp eye for detail, a love of accuracy and confidence in handling complex data. Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you’ll be skilled in analysing, interpreting and presenting data in clear and engaging ways.

You’ll have strong IT skills, particularly with Power BI and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or similar systems – including creating dashboards, charts and reports – will be an advantage.

You’ll have experience working with large databases, interrogating data to identify performance trends and producing reports for senior managers. Confidence and curiosity are key: you’ll be unafraid to ask questions, challenge inconsistencies and suggest better ways of doing things.

You’ll also bring excellent communication skills – able to explain technical issues simply, build trust with colleagues and work collaboratively across teams. Discretion, adaptability and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. Experience working in a social housing or public sector environment would be beneficial, though not essential.

Your work will have a direct and visible impact – helping to improve service delivery, strengthen decision‑making and drive change across the Housing service. You’ll also enjoy working for a council that values balance, wellbeing and belonging, offering a supportive environment where your contributions are recognised and appreciated.

Why Data Science Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Data science once meant advanced statistics, machine learning models and coding in Python or R. In the UK today, it has become one of the most in-demand professions across sectors — from healthcare to finance, retail to government. But as the field matures, employers now expect more than technical modelling skills. Modern data science is multidisciplinary. It requires not just coding and algorithms, but also legal knowledge, ethical reasoning, psychological insight, linguistic clarity and human-centred design. Data scientists are expected to interpret, communicate and apply data responsibly, with awareness of law, human behaviour and accessibility. In this article, we’ll explore why data science careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five disciplines intersect with data science, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to succeed in this transformed field.
