We have an amazing new opportunity for a Data Product Specialist to join the Data Management Delivery team here are Virgin Media O2.

The department provides the organisation with its governance structure to delivery enterprise data capability to VMO2 across its productionised platforms and operating business units. This department handles hundreds of VMDATA engagement for projects and initiatives each year. Working from requirements, through design, build, and deployment into Production delivering pragmatically to our strategic data architecture and understanding such data services for VMO2 partners.

As part of the team, our Data Product Specialists (DPS) work on enterprise capability with business partners to align demand with IT enablement, and our Data Services roadmaps. DPS work closely with Data Solution Architects (DSA) to understand both strategic architecture steer, design patterns and specific solution decisions. DPS leads all aspects of design approach and quality of our vendor teams within that stated architecture enabling expedient solutions within the agreed engagement plan. DPS also work very closely with partners and Data Support under BAU to assure a continuous quality service. DPS team look to utilise tooling, such as EA Sparx, Confluence, JIRA and Metadata Hub, and provide appropriate insight into enterprise data on what capability it has and clarity on its components.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

Stakeholder management expertise with experience in good consistent communication methods: both spoken and written; formal and informal. Task management experience with an understanding of Data, Data Flows and componentisation Understanding of Data table structures, relationships and association Problem management and resolution experience, able to understand applications of a logical plan to a pragmatic physical delivery. Use of project governance tooling JIRA, and related tasks, activities, Kanban and dashboards Experience of using project methodologies (such as Waterfall, Agile, WAgile) along with their subject areas and why such are needed: to influence partners, PM, SI, Designers in appropriate approaches to work and tasks

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

An understanding of structuring stakeholder focus, plans and roadmaps within a persistent relationship Familiarity with DFD, and good practice around ETL An understanding of data modelling, ideally as expressed in EA Sparx; and where / why data structure can enrich business capability, reduce costs etc Knowledge within system modelling (EA Sparx), interfaces, API models Ability to understand technical components, data and flows and identify directly, or direct SMEs to do so, to identify RCA, assess impact, and shape resolution. Ability to script in SQL and JQL
