Data Governance and Strategic Data LeadLocation: Rotherham (Hybrid - Some Travel Required)Salary: £58,000 - £62,000 per annumJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentOur client, a leading organisation in the facilities management sector, is seeking an experienced Data Governance and Strategic Data Lead to develop and oversee a high-level data governance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping data strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving innovation.The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide data governance framework. Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, they will develop strategies to enhance data quality, security, and compliance while supporting business growth and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement an enterprise data governance roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Define and enforce data policies, standards, and controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.Work collaboratively with leadership, IT, and operational teams to integrate data governance into business processes.Drive innovation in data management, ensuring a future-ready, risk-aware data architecture.Lead organisational change initiatives to embed a data-driven culture.Define clear roles and responsibilities for data stewardship across the organisation.Oversee the maintenance of data models, catalogues, and metadata to ensure data consistency and accessibility.Manage a Senior BI Analyst/Engineer and their team, supporting their development and aligning their goals with business priorities.Support enterprise initiatives and acquisition integration from a data governance perspective.Monitor and report on data governance KPIs and conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues.Ensure compliance with global data regulations, including GDPR, working closely with legal and information security teams.Provide training and educational resources to embed data governance principles across the business.What Our Client is Looking For:Proven experience in a strategic or enterprise-level data governance role.Strong knowledge of data management frameworks and regulatory requirements.Technical expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Looker, Power BI, and other data technologies.A commercial mindset with the ability to link data governance to business impact.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.Ability to lead change and foster a data-centric culture.Desirable Experience:A background in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.Familiarity with contact centre operations.Why Join?This is an opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic organisation that values data-driven decision-making.
