Job Description Data Engineering Product Owner Leeds –
Hybrid (1 DPW in office) £66,000 - £75,000 + bonus VIQU has
partnered with a leading supply chain company looking for a Data
Engineering Product Owner to help shape and drive the future of
their data platform. This is a hybrid role, combining stakeholder
engagement, product direction, and technical oversight – ideal for
someone who understands data engineering but can also take a
broader product-led view to deliver tangible business value. You’ll
be working closely with both business and technical teams – leading
conversations, defining and prioritising platform features, and
ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data
solutions. You’ll play a key part in helping the business get the
most from their investment in modern data technologies. Key
Responsibilities of the Data Engineering Product Owner: - Act as an
SME for the data engineering domain, particularly across cloud data
platforms (AWS/Azure) - Own the product roadmap for the data
engineering space – identifying, shaping and prioritising features
to deliver real business value. - Drive delivery of data platform
capabilities, ensuring alignment with engineering best practices
and technical strategy. - Guide engineering teams on best practice,
methodologies, and solution design. - Lead implementation of data
solutions, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms
    for non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. - Actively
    engage with business stakeholders to understand their needs and
    turn them into actionable technical requirements. - Provide input
    on data modelling, data flows, and pipeline optimisation as part of
    delivering robust platform capabilities. - Identify and mitigate
    risks associated with domain-specific technologies and delivery.
    Key Requirements of the Data Engineering Product Owner: - Strong
    background in data engineering, with experience in a product owner
    or product manager. - Proven ability to work closely with both
    business and technical teams – translating complex requirements
    clearly to both. - Experience working with AWS (preferred) or Azure
    cloud environments. - Hands-on experience or strong understanding
    of Databricks (or other Spark-based platforms). - Familiarity with
    modern data modelling approaches and pipeline design. - Confident
    leading conversations across technical teams and stakeholders –
    strong communicator and collaborator. - Knowledge of data security,
    governance, and best practice tooling is a plus. - Ideally
    degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, with
    8+ years in data-related roles. To discuss this exciting
