What you'll do

  • Grow and improve an effective self-organising, cross-functional and well-adapted team where individuals recognise that team success is more important than individual success.
  • Support the team with being data-driven and track agreed performance metrics.
  • Help the team establish and abide by a set of 'norms' that help them govern their standards, behaviours and interactions.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate daily team agile ceremonies.
  • Support team members' personal development and track objectives through regular one-to-ones.
  • Promote learning, experimentation and knowledge sharing and encourage creativity. Help the team to continuously improve their process and behaviour through regular reflection , adaptation and adoption of industry best practices .
  • Work closely with Analysts, Product Manager and Senior Engineering Managers, Delivery Managers to create, establish and maintain a prioritized backlog & roadmap for the team.
  • Liaise effectively and manage relationships with Management Team, Product Owners, Tech Leaders, Project Managers and Stakeholders.

What you'll bring

  • Software Development Lifecycle(SDLC ) : Previous experience managing Software Development teams and f amiliarity with agile, scrum, and DevOps practices . Experience of managing a team of at least 5 to 6 engineers
  • Collaboration with Product & Analysts :Reviewing & Refining Requirements with Technical Analysts & Product Managers and ensuring the technical implementation aligns with the product requirements and business objectives .
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, CI/CD
  • Delivery Management: Experience in Roadmap, Sprint Planning, Resource Management and ability to identify Risks & Technical Dependencies
  • Data-Driven: Ability to use Jira to define KPIs, and metrics to drive delivery throughput
  • Efficiency & Innovationin Development by ensuring engineering teams adopt scalable and maintainable solutions while aligning with business goals. Foster innovation by challenging assumptions, identifying simplifications, and leveraging existing tools or GenAI technologies to accelerate development .
  • Incident Management :Lead incident management by proactively identifying risks, ensuring rapid response to issues, promote a culture of continuous improvement by analysing root causes, implementing preventive measures, and enhancing system resilience using COE reports
  • E ducation / Certification: bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering or relevant discipline. PSM 1 Certified.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate between teams. Take pride and ownership in your work, representing your team to other parts of Sky.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and provide clear direction to the team. An enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new skills and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
