By developing and maintaining data pipelines, models, and tools, you'll ensure data is accessible, high-quality, and ready to power business-critical decisions.

This is your chance to be a subject matter expert, using your expertise in the Azure stack to deliver impactful solutions while contributing to HEINEKEN's data transformation journey.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and architectures to prepare data for analysis and modelling.
  • Build scalable infrastructure and implement processes to ensure data quality and availability using Azure tools like Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Delta Lake.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data accessibility and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design and implement advanced analytics and business intelligence solutions including Power BI.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with technical expertise and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Mentor junior team members and engage with offshore development teams.
  • Stay at the forefront of data engineering practices and industry trends.

  • Advanced qualifications, such as an MSc or PhD in data engineering/analytics (preferred).
  • Certification as a Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate (preferred).

Experience & Skills:

  • You’ll bring at least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in Azure tools, including Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Delta Lake.
  • Comprehensive coding skills in Python and SQL.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders and manage requirements, design, testing, and Agile delivery.
  • Technical credibility and confidence in making impactful decisions.
  • A great understanding of the Azure analytics ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of Azure AI/ML implementation opportunities.

What's in It for You?

This is a high-impact role where you'll be part of a team that's at the forefront of HEINEKEN's data transformation. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, mentor others, and contribute to meaningful projects that directly shape our success.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have the skills to hit the ground running, we'd love to hear from you!

Our Benefits:

  • Discretionary Annual bonus.
  • Company funded Private Medical Healthcare.
  • Double matched pension (up to 10%).
  • 35 days holiday.
  • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers! (low and no alcohol options available).
  • Comprehensive Opportunities to develop.

Our Ways of Working:

This role is office-based. We currently operate a hybrid working framework which allows us to capture the benefits of both working in the office and at home. For full-time roles, we work a minimum of 3 days in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with Monday and Friday being our work-from-home days.

In May, we may be moving to a fantastic new office at 6 St Andrew Square right in the heart of the city centre.

The office is in a great location with excellent public transport links so it's really easy to get to whether you're traveling by train, bus, or tram!

With a brilliant selection of restaurants, bars, shops, and our very own Star Pubs on our doorstep, you'll be spoiled for choice for extracurricular activities. And if you fancy a catch-up after hours with your colleagues, our in-house bar with fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle might just be the spot for you!

We're looking forward to welcoming you to our new home.

The Application:

If you like what you've read and are ready to brew a better career with us, let's get going! We may close vacancies early where we receive lots of applications, so don't delay!

If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example, if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we're more than happy to review our processes. Please feel free to get in touch with us.

You might feel that you don't meet every single requirement for this role, and that's okay; we all need the opportunity to develop and untap our full potential. If this advert's piqued your interest, we'd encourage you to submit an application rather than ruling yourself out. You never know; you may be exactly what we're looking for!
