The Company

Our client, a major player in thereinsurance sectoris looking to hire a skilled and drivenData Engineerto support the evolution of its internal data solutions. This position offers the opportunity to own and enhance core data flows that underpin critical business applications.

You’ll play a central role in maintaining data quality, integrating systems, and ensuring data is accessible for analytics and decision-making across the business. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders and offers the chance to contribute to both operational processes and strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of a central data integration tool and lead its ongoing development and optimisation.
  • Finalise and improve data pipelines to deliver clean, structured datasets across business functions.
  • Design and apply monitoring processes to maintain data quality and integrity.
  • Produce clear and well-documented code and data flows to support transparency and future maintenance.
  • Carry out peer reviews to uphold high technical standards.
  • Work closely with users across the organisation to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.
  • Design, test, and document solutions in line with established development practices.
  • Manage workload independently, ensuring delivery of both project work and BAU tasks.
  • Create controls and reporting mechanisms to prevent repeat data issues.
  • Support the migration and integration of local data processes into group-wide cloud platforms.
  • Estimate time, cost and resource needs for change requests and project plans.
  • Comply with internal governance and group-level standards.
  • Assist with broader data and technical initiatives as required.

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years' demonstrable experience in developing and managing data pipelines in a business-critical environment.
  • Strong background in specifying, cleansing, and correcting complex data sets.
  • Full-cycle experience in delivering and maintaining data provisioning systems.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing principles.
  • Collaborative working style with experience in cross-functional settings.
  • Experience within reinsurance or insurance is desirable, but not essential.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure is a bonus.
