At Paradigm Sports Intelligence, you will be working directly with Ipswich Town Football Club. You will be a key part of the team that delivers crucial data science and insights to support decision-making across all aspects of the Club.

In this role as a Data Engineer, you will work closely with data science and analysis staff to build and maintain the data infrastructure that supports insight generation across the club. You will play an integral role in designing robust, automated pipelines that ensure efficient data collection, ingestion, storage, and processing — enabling timely analysis and reporting for stakeholders across the organisation.

Who are we looking for?

While your primary responsibility will be data engineering, the role is highly applied and collaborative. The ideal candidate will:
•Have strong Python programming skills and experience with cloud-based data engineering.
• Possess strong general programming and problem-solving capabilities, with an interest in data science or analysis and a willingness to contribute across the full data pipeline.
• Have the ability and willingness to support other areas of the data science pipeline when required.
• Have a strong academic background, holding at least a 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Ideally have equivalent industry experience. Previous experience working in the football industry is desirable.
• Be self-motivated, committed and driven.
• Have a strong willingness to learn a range of new skills and build on your existing abilities.
• Be organised, able to meet deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and work well in a team.
