The opportunity:

It’s an exciting time to joinMarkelas our business grows and we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Python Developer with experience in Databricks and PySpark to join our dynamic team. The candidate will work within the Advanced Analytics team, closely collaborating with a mixture of data scientists, data engineers, actuaries, and AI specialists. The role involves working both remotely and across several different countries.

You will be part of an R&D-oriented team with strong cloud data, software engineering, and modelling skills. The team will support you in creating and using data models, ensuring the highest standards in data integrity, and making sure our data products meet software standards throughout their development phases.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python development, a solid understanding of data engineering concepts, and familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing.

Our must haves:

Develop and maintain Python scripts and applications using Databricks and PySpark

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective data solutions

Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices

Write clean, maintainable Python code that adheres to SOLID principles and facilitates the robust development of our data infrastructure

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly

Stay ahead of the latest trends and advancements in Python development and data engineering

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment

Design RESTful APIs that serve as the conduits for data flow across different systems within our enterprise

Advance our AI/ML platform by contributing to the data architecture that supports complex analytical models
