Data Engineer / Data Architect

Location: North London or West Midlands

Hybrid working: (3 days per week in office)

Up to £90k basic plus strong benefits


E1 Partners are hiring on behalf of a forward-thinking energy business looking to modernise their data platform. They need a strong Data Engineer to take the lead on both engineering and architectural design.


The Role - This is a hands-on, technical role where you’ll:

  • Design and build secure, scalable data pipelines using the Microsoft Azure stack
  • Influence and evolve the business’s data architecture and governance strategy
  • Support decision-making across risk, finance, and operations through high-quality, well-modelled data
  • Lead best practices in data management, cloud engineering, and automation


Tech You’ll Use

  • Azure Data Stack – Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL
  • SQL (essential), Python/C# (desirable)
  • Power BI, Power Automate, and API integrations
  • ERP/CRM experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (a bonus)


Experience required:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer / Developer
  • Strong command of SQL and modern data modelling principles
  • Experience building data platforms on Azure
  • Passion for analytics, data automation, and empowering the business with clean, reliable data
  • Energy/utilities industry experience is required
  • Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring others
