** We're Hiring: Data Engineer** Location:RemoteHours:Monday - Friday 09:00-17:30 We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing Data Engineering Team. You'll be an integral part of a high-performing team, working with Microsoft technologies to implement complex data solutions that deliver best-in-class experiences for our customers and empower our colleagues to make data-driven decisions every day. Working closely with our Architects and Senior Engineers, you will leverage your technical skills to develop and deliver high-quality solutions that meet required specifications. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that solutions are aligned with business requirements. You will work in collaboration with Data Science, Digital, and Core Systems teams to deliver cross-functional projects, in addition to data-focused projects, through to BAU change. Additionally, you will be an advocate for engineering excellence, following in-house standards and architectural principles to ensure that our data solutions meet the required standards for privacy, security, compliance, and regulation. Your contributions to code reviews, Agile events, testing and quality assurance will be essential to our success.

Key Accountabilities

Delivering high-quality enterprise-level data solutions on Microsoft platforms. Collaborating with Architects and Senior Engineers to deliver solution to required technical designs and specifications. Working closely with Data Science, Digital, and Core Systems teams to deliver cross-functional projects. Contributing to Agile events, including Daily Stand-Ups, Backlog Refinement workshops, Retrospectives, and Demos. Participating in code reviews. Adhering to in-house engineering standards and architectural principles based on industry best practices. Following in-house policies and procedures for Data Management, Governance, and Quality. Creating technical documentation, wikis, and release notes as needed to support all stages of the Development Lifecycle. Conducting thorough testing and quality assurance checks on data solutions prior to release.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Minimum 3 years experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence. Experience working within a regulated environment. Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and its various services and tools related to data engineering, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Functions etc. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to all areas/levels of the Business. Expertise in Microsoft Data Platform technologies, such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS. Expertise and experience with Data Pipelines and Integrations (ETL/ELT) A solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data normalisation, dimensional modelling, and associated practices. Knowledge and experience of data manipulation languages (e.g. TSQL, DAX) Experience working in an Agile Environment (ideally Kanban). Ability to build strong and trusting relationships across all levels of the organisation. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

DesirableKnowledge of the Mortgage/Financial Services businessExperience with Power BI for creating visualizations and dashboards.Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C#, Python, PowerShell).Experience consuming APIs and working with semi-structured data (JSON, XML)Working with Git Repositories including branching strategiesAdditional relevant technologies including PowerShell, Bicep, YAML, Power PlatformMicrosoft / Azure Data Platform Certifications would be an advantage.
