Location:Burnley, Lancashire

Contract:Permanent - 37.5 hours per week – Hybrid (2 days a week in office)
Salary:£50-55,000 + performance bonuses + great benefits

We’re partnering with an innovative and growing organisation that’s been a pioneer in water network monitoring for over 20 years. As the sector steps up to meet new environmental challenges, the demand for data-driven solutions is growing fast - and this team is at the forefront of it all.

If you’re excited by working with large, complex datasets, building scalable data pipelines, and helping to solve real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and building pipelines in the data platform, with automation, quality and resilience at the core.
  • Supporting the development of a scalable data architecture and engineering roadmap.
  • Helping colleagues across the business solve data problems, from ad hoc data extraction to long-term ETL solutions.
  • Sharing best practices and mentoring junior team members in a newly formed, collaborative data team.
  • Playing an active role in shaping a future-proof data environment as the organisation scales.

What we’re looking for:

  • Hands-on experience in a Data Engineering role working with large datasets and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Solid Python and SQL skills.
  • A proactive, curious mindset, you enjoy owning projects, breaking down problems, and learning new things.
  • Strong communication skills, you can explain complex ideas simply and document clearly.
  • Understanding of data best practices (e.g. version control, security).
