Job Purpose/The Role

  • We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Data Platforms team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure the efficient and reliable flow of data across the organisation. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with data at scale.
  • Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure using modern tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all systems.
  • Optimise data workflows for performance and scalability.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and best practices.

Desirable

  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
