We are looking for a 3D Simulation and Data Pipeline Engineer with strong experience in Unreal Engine, Python, and 3D data workflows.

You'll design dynamic, high-fidelity scenes and automation pipelines that transform raw aerial imagery into usable environments for machine learning, autonomy testing and synthetic data generation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Build simulation environments:Create and maintain realistic 3D worlds in Unreal Engine 5, including lighting, weather, and scene actors.
  • Automate pipelines:Develop Python workflows to manage scene generation, data capture, and synthetic sensor simulation.
  • Transform imagery:Convert aerial drone data and photogrammetry outputs into high-quality 3D assets using Blender and Reality Capture.
  • Collaborate across disciplines:Work with ML researchers, autonomy engineers, and simulation leads to design custom scenarios and support data needs.
  • Support data generation:Enable the export of RGB, depth, segmentation, and other metadata for AI and perception training.
  • Enhance accuracy:Apply GIS and georeferencing techniques to align 3D environments to real-world locations.
  • Contribute to testing frameworks:Extend simulation into SITL/HITL systems for perception and planning evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Game Development, Robotics or similar.
  • 3–5 years of experience in 3D simulation, environment design or synthetic data generation.
  • Deep experience with Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints and Actor design.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  • Experience with Blender or similar tools for mesh clean-up and optimization.
  • Familiarity with photogrammetry workflows and tools such as RealityCapture.
  • Understanding of geospatial data formats and coordinate systems (e.g. GeoTIFF, DEM).

It’s A Bonus If You Have:

  • Knowledge of SITL/HITL systems or tools like ROS, PX4 or MAVLink.
  • Experience with real-time rendering optimisation or performance tuning.
  • Background in procedural generation or automated 3D asset pipelines.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or Simulink in robotics or control systems.
  • Prior experience working with synthetic data for AI or perception tasks.

The Benefits:

  • Career progression:Be part of a growing team where your contributions directly shape product and platform direction.
  • Innovative tools:Work with Unreal Engine, custom pipelines, and real-world data from autonomous drone systems.
