Data Science Engineer – AI-Powered Tech Startup - Hybrid

Join a trailblazing AI startup pushing boundaries in applied computer vision and real-time data processing. Recognized for innovation and backed by leading VC funds, they are building a next-generation solution that merges advanced tracking technology with exclusive, world-class content.

As they scale, they’re looking for a Data Science Engineer to lead the evolution of their proprietary tracking technology, focusing on algorithmic accuracy, real-time feedback, and seamless user experience.

About the Role

This role centres on developing and refining data analysis algorithms to enable real-time processing and feedback—no UI coding required. Working closely with the Head of Engineering and CPO, you’ll advance their rules-based framework, driving impactful data-driven insights and ensuring high-performance execution. Proficiency in Kotlin is essential, as it’s integral to their tech stack, with additional opportunities to work in Python on related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development on their real-time tracking technology with the Head of Engineering and CPO.
  • Leverage MediaPipe, MoveNet, or similar ML libraries to refine data algorithms, calculating essential metrics based on real-time coordinate analysis.
  • Apply statistical analysis to enhance data precision, particularly in complex occlusion scenarios.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure a smooth, bug-minimised release process.
  • Facilitate coordination with cross-functional teams for new feature rollouts.
  • Potential to assume a leadership role as the data science team expands.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
  • Extensive experience in a Data Science or Engineering position.
  • Experience working with pose estimation models and extracting features from time-series or sequential data.
  • Solid foundation in linear algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with Agile workflows and project management tools like JIRA.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product-oriented mindset with a passion for AI-driven tech innovation.
  • Experience in real-time data analysis and building scalable, high-performance solutions.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with share options.
  • Flexible work setup with remote days.
  • Unlimited paid time off, mental health support, and learning & development budget.
  • Regular team events and a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
