The Data Business Analyst is a new role within our organisation and is responsible for leading the evolution and embedding of the capability within the wider data department. This role will a pivotal part in shaping the future of our data platform and data products.
The Data Business Analyst will work closely with both the data team and senior business stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data-driven solutions. This role will play a key role in ensuring that our data strategies and initiatives are aligned with our business objectives.
As a Data Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between data analytics and business objectives. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and understand their requirements, identify data-driven insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations that drive business growth and efficiency.
The is a pivotal role in the major transformation that IM is taking on. This role will ensure that we clearly understand how value is created through our existing reports and how we can shape the future state. The role will be crucial to ensuring IM is has a scalable data foundation and we can release further value from our data.
The Data Business Analyst role is a key part in accelerating data value creation at IM and unlocking data’s potential, enabling improved data driven decisions and advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and objectives. Liase with data engineers and insights analysts for data discovery and requirement definition. Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data sets, utilizing various tools and techniques. Identify trends, patterns, and insights within the data and present findings to stakeholders. Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making processes. Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to support business strategies. Ensure data integrity, quality, and accuracy throughout the analysis process. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence.
About You Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.). Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large and complex data sets. An understanding of data and ability to investigate complex data lineage and translate this to actions. SQL to Source, Tableau & Crystal Reports. Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst or similar role. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Skilled in simplifying complexity and understanding processes. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis. Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Experience of working within a Professional services firm.
