We are seeking a Data Architect to help drive the technical design and future evolution of a highly-scalable, multi-cloud data platform and data products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, cloud software architecture, and data management.

Location:Belfast, NI (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of aPriori’s Architecture Team to help guide the evolution of our Cloud Platform with a specific focus on our emerging Data Platform.
  • Work with the Engineering teams to create high-value data solutions that serve business needs across various departments.
  • Be a domain expert and mentor for a team of data engineers, helping them work through the design, implementation, and maintenance of data products and data platform capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, evolution, and operation of robust data processing systems.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software development teams, and other stakeholders to support data-centric initiatives.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new tools and techniques in data architecture and data processing.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Proficient in Python with demonstrable experience with other programming languages such as Java or Scala.

Preferred Skills

  • 5 or more years’ experience with cloud services on AWS or GCP.
  • 3 or more years as a Lead or Senior Data Engineer or as a Data Architect.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or better in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer.
  • Experience with Data Catalogs, Data Governance, and Data lineage.
