I am working with a Tier 1 Investment Bank to hire a Data Architect (with CMDB/ ServiceNow experience) for a long term, globally distributed project.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with expertise in data architecture, IT Service Management (ITSM), and ITIL frameworks. The role involves overseeing the data infrastructure, ensuring effective data extraction, organization, and access. You’ll manage the Firm’s Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring alignment with industry best practices and enterprise architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and management of the CMDB and CSDM, ensuring efficiency, policy compliance, and alignment with technology strategy.
Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data needs and maintain CMDB hygiene.
Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise architecture guidelines.
Report on data architecture status, liaising with functional leads, business services, and governance forums.
Establish a data architecture framework, manage documentation, prioritize requirements, and oversee the implementation.
Support the triage of data changes, recommend solutions, and audit CMDB for design compliance.
Work with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
Ideal Candidate:
5+ years as a Data Architect, with at least 2 years of ServiceNow experience.
Deep understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, etc.).
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services) preferred.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, adaptable to changing environments.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to work independently with strong ownership and attention to detail.
Experience with Agile development, ITIL, and ServiceNow certifications a plus.
Skills & Experience:
Strong collaboration across global teams and the ability to handle complex distributed systems.
Knowledge of various system implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
Program management experience or Agile certification.
ServiceNow Admin and Developer training/certification.
Contract Details:
Contract: 12 months, initially
Rate: £500-600, flex
Location: Glasgow office (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
