About the role Our DataArchitects play a crucial role in shaping and optimising ourcustomers’ data landscape, ensuring robust, scalable, governedsolutions, built on the latest Azure technology using best practiceprocess and tools. Yourresponsibilities will include: - Solution Design: Understand andelaborate customer vision and Architect cloud-based data platformsto meet their needs following Microsoft, Ascent and industry bestpractice. - Data Modelling & Design: Build and evolveconceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models. - DataProducts: Elaborate customer requirements into actionable backlogitems ready for engineering by the development team into artefactslike data pipelines, notebooks, models, visualizations, etc. -Stakeholder Management: Collaborate and communicate with businessand technical stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track anddelight customers. - Pre-Sales: Identify new opportunities, drivenew project phases and provide technical input to the pre-salesteam based on project experience and expertise. - Knowledge:Staying up to date with advancements in the data ecosystem,particularly within the Microsoft technology stack, and mentoringdelivery teams on best practices. - Data Governance: Understandcustomer data governance requirements and how to address them insolution architecture and operational processes. KeyResponsibilities - Solution Architecture: Design solutions thatmeet clients’ functional and non-functional requirements, ensuringfit for purpose, scalability, performance, and maintainability. -Data Strategy & Roadmap: Define and document technical deliveryplans, ensuring clear next steps for the current phase and futureexpansion of projects. - Governance & Standards: Advocate andenforce best practices in data modelling, DataOps, CI/CD, andsecurity across projects. - Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:Maintain high-quality technical documentation, ensuring clarity forboth engineering teams and business stakeholders. - IndustryAwareness: Stay informed on Microsoft Fabric and comparableplatforms like Databricks and Synapse, understanding theirdifferences and relevance to projects. Experience & Skills Youshould have strong soft skills in stakeholder engagement, with theability to build technical credibility and take a consulting-ledapproach to sales and delivery. You will likely also have: -Hands-on architecture and implementation experience with MicrosoftFabric (preferred), along with familiarity with Azure Synapse andDatabricks. - Experience in core data platform technologies andmethods including Spark, Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture,pipelines, etc. - Experience leading medium to large-scale clouddata platform implementations, guiding teams through technicalchallenges and ensuring alignment with best practices. - Expertisein data modelling and Lakehouse architecture, particularly indesigning robust medallion architecture patterns (bronze, silver,gold layers). - Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices for datapipelines, ensuring automated, repeatable, and scalabledeployments. - Familiarity with open-source data tools such asSpark, and an understanding of how they complement cloud dataplatforms. - Experience creating and maintaining structuredtechnical roadmaps, ensuring successful delivery and futurescalability of data solutions. - A track record of providingtechnical input for pre-sales engagements, supporting proposaldevelopment by offering architectural insights. - Knowledge of datagovernance tools and processes like Purview and Unity Catalogue.Why Join Us?
