Data Architect Location: London (Hybrid Working of 2 days per month in the office) Salary: £60,000 Contract Type: 2-Year FTC, Full-Time Sector: National Charity Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected nationwide charity seeking an experienced Data Architect to help drive its digital transformation and data strategy. This is a hands-on, technically focused role where youll be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and insight-driven data architecture solutions aligned with the charitys strategic objectives. Youll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, contributing to high-impact data initiatives and ensuring data is structured and governed to maximise its value. Key Responsibilities Align data architecture with organisational strategy and business goals. Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and suppliers to define and translate requirements into scalable data solutions. Create and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, physical), data flows, and integration frameworks. Contribute to planning and delivery of data architecture projects in an agile context. Lead efforts to ensure data architecture policies, standards, and governance best practices are followed. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in data architecture and governance. Promote modern approaches to data analytics, AI/ML enablement, and reusable data architecture components. Stay updated on emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovation. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, improve, and evolve data platforms. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a Data Architect role. Strong expertise in data modelling, data integration, governance, and visualisation. Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, R, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and cloud platforms. Experience using data modelling tools (e.g. ERwin, ER/Studio). Familiarity with data protection and compliance principles (e.g. GDPR, DPA 2018). Understanding of API and file-based integration approaches. Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks and using tools like Jira and Confluence. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams. Desirable Skills & Certifications Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and integration tools like Informatica IICS. Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, DAMA, CDMP, SnowPro, Salesforce Data Architect). Experience working with platforms such as Salesforce, Unit4 ERPx, or Iris Cascade. Previous experience in the not-for-profit or public sector domain. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organisation committed to using data for positive impact. Youll be part of a collaborative architecture team within a forward-thinking IT department, working on meaningful projects that help drive social good. This is a 2-Year FTC, paying £60,000 per annum with Benefits including - 26 days holiday rising annually, Perkbox, Life Assurance, Pension from 9% to 16%, BUPA Dental. Flexible Hybrid working of 2 days per month in their office in London.
