Data Architect | Remote | Manchester | 525 p/d inside | 3 months + extensions |

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to join a high-profile government programme, helping to shape and deliver enterprise-level data architecture that underpins critical public services.

The Role
You’ll define and maintain enterprise data architecture, lead data modelling and governance across multiple platforms, and ensure solutions meet both business and technical requirements.
This role will have a strong focus on data quality and alignment with government frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture aligned with organisational strategy.
  • Lead data modelling, integration, and governance across multiple platforms and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and technical needs.
  • Drive data quality, metadata management, and interoperability across systems.
  • Support the development of data standards and policies in line with government frameworks.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Architect in public sector environments (DWP, HMRC, NHS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of data integration, data modelling, and data governance.
  • Familiarity with government digital service standards and DDaT capability frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.


Desirable

  • Experience in financial services or working with financial data.
  • Knowledge of open data standards, API-driven architectures, and semantic data models.
  • Familiarity with data ethics, privacy, and security frameworks in government.
