Who we are looking for:
We are seeking someone with a data consultancy background, who is used to managing clients. You will be a self-starter, technically confident, and able to land on a project and instantly add value.
With a quantitative mindset and proven experience working in a data architecture role in an Azure ecosystem, Azure modern data platform experience is essential, with hands-on skills preferred.
You will be a Data Architect: a master data manipulator with Python/SQL/data pipelines and a technical specialist capable of managing customer requirements for data-centric projects, designing integration solutions, data modelling, and hands-on implementation of data and management information-based technologies.
Required Experience:
Able to manage work and juggle priorities on multiple projects/workstreams
Working in an agile landscape to make technical decisions/recommendations where there is uncertainty
Stakeholder management and technical team interaction (internal, external and 3rd party)
Requirements gathering (ETL, BI)
Identifying through workshops
Elaborate user stories and refine to an Engineer-friendly technical approach
Documentation of designs with an industry-recognised form such as ER, UML, Archimate or Erwin
Data migration experience into SaaS CRM solutions
Large scale Data Lakehouse/Data Warehouse design
Conceptual architecture
Logical architecture
Physical architecture
ETL/ELT best practice approaches to monitoring and error-handling
Understanding of Kimball data-modelling techniques
Hands-on experience and ability to collaborate with data engineers to polish solutions for customer-readiness
SQL Azure, Synapse Analytics (dataflows, Jupyter notebooks, on-demand SQL), Databricks, ADF
Power BI, DAX, data flows
SSIS
Appreciation of information security standards such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS or Cyber Essentials
BPSS clearance will be required on start
Desirable experience:
At least 3 years of public sector experience
Azure data certifications (DP-203, DP-600)
Data Governance tools (e.g. Microsoft Purview)
Community engagement and amplification of best practice at organisation & industry level
Integration to D365 and Dataverse solutions
Azure storage technologies and cost/performance characteristics
Techniques and tools for sanitizing data prior to use
Master Data solutions
Python and Data Science
