We're working with a prominent commercial insurance provider based in London. As the insurance industry evolves, they recognise the critical role of data in driving insights, improving efficiency, and enhancing decision-making. That’s why they’re looking for a Data Architect with a strong background in insurance to help them harness the power of data.

The Role:

As the first Data Architect within the organisation, you will have the unique opportunity to build and shape their data architecture from the ground up. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, IT teams, and business units to define and implement a data strategy that aligns with their corporate objectives. This role requires a hands-on approach, strategic vision, and the ability to influence and lead in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement the company’s enterprise data architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  2. Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  3. Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and ensure data solutions align with business objectives.
  4. Define and document data models, workflows, and integration strategies.
  5. Oversee the integration of data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  6. Provide expertise in data management, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data solutions.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
  8. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for innovation and improvement.

Experience Needed:

  1. Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar senior data role within the insurance industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of insurance products, processes, and data systems.
  3. Expertise in data modelling, database design, and data integration.
  4. Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  6. A proactive and innovative mindset, with a passion for solving complex data challenges.
